PEDRO ABRUNHOSA &
BANDEMÓNIO
"Tempo "
Formed six years ago, Pedro
Abrunhosa & Bandemónio released their debut CD
"Viagens" in April 94, under the multinational
PolyGram. It was recorded in Oporto, mixed in London and produced
by Quico, Mario Barreiros and Pedro Abrunhosa.
"Viagens" went 3 times Platinum in Portugal, followed
by an enormous national tour, reaching over 800,000 people. The
band went on to a small world tour to countries such as the
U.S.A. (New York), Hong-Kong, Brazil (Rio de Janeiro), Italy,
France, Spain and China. Pedro Abrunhosa's international career
actually began in January 95 when the music magazine
"Billboard" published a front page and centre page
spread on the "phenomenon" of this artist in Southern
Europe.
The current new album, entitled "Tempo" as
produced by Mario Barreiros and was Engineered and mixed bv
Paisley Park Chief Engineer Tom Tucker who has been working with
Prince.
The recording sessions took place in Oporto, Lisbon and
Minneapolis and the mixes happened in Memphis. The master session
was in Masterdisk (New York).
Maceo Parker, Musical Director of J.B. Horns, was guest star on
Pedro Abrunhosa's first record. Pedro has now invited some of
Prince's best known musicians for the second album, including
among others the Hornheads, led by Michael Nelson on horns, and
Ricky Petterson on hammond , Paul Peterson on bass. This record
also features the legendary Fado singer Carlos do Carmo and the
Classical Ensemble "Opus Ensemble".
In "Tempo" Pedro is the author of all the lyrics and
songs and this confirms the general opinion that he is the most
important sonq writer of Popular Portuguese Music.
<<Se Eu fosse um dia o teu olhar>> was the first
local single, a fabulous ballad, that entered the National
Airplay Chart at Nºl.
This track, is also included in the score of the film
<<Adao e Eva>> (Adam an Eve), directed by Joaquim
Leitao, a NQl National Box Office hit.
The second album "Tempo" was released on the 13th
November in Portugal and was certified 4 times Platinum in only
seven weeks. This is an historical mark for national repertoire
in the portuguese market. PolyGram Portugal in conjunction with
PolyGram International recorded English versions which will be
included in a promoticnal single, as well as in a CDSingle, a
CDMaxi and an album.
After the presentation at Midem and interviews for Billboard,
Mucic & Media and MTV, PolyGram Portugal in conjunction with
PolyGram Iberica will reccrd Spanish versions which will be
available half February (tbc) in CD Promo, CDSingle, CDMaxi and
album for Spain and South America markets.

Acabam
de regressar de Londres, onde durante uma semana
concluiram as versões em inglês do álbum "Tempo",
o músico Pedro Abrunhosa e o produtor Mário
Barreiros.
revista "Music & Media" especial Midem
olhar". Todas as versões, quer língua inglesa, quer
