E-INCLUSION OF ITINERANT STUDENTS ON THE KNOWLEDGE-BASED SOCIETY

ABSTRACT

This project aims to deal with the creation, organization and maintenance of a learning space in the b-learning system for the itinerant students of the primary school, in order to build knowledge based on the constructivist principles and succeed in school. Questions related to the lives of itinerant students, on-line learning, the use of interactive methodologies supported by information and communication technologies will be issued throughout this project, having as the main purpose the e-Inclusion of these students on the Knowledge-based Society.

For that matter, official data from the Ministry of Education concerning the quantity of itinerant students in each level of education was collected and analysed, interviews to itinerant students, regular students, teachers, psychologist and school manager were carried with the intention of recognizing the obstacles found by the itinerant students to conclude compulsory school and the subjects in which they felt most difficulties. From this data, the project “@qui há escola” was shaped, based in new strategies of learning, b-learning, and supported by the information and communication technologies in order to stimulate teaching and learning processes, developing in the students an analytical skill, reflection, participation and the will to build knowledge so as to optimize the learning process. Interactive pedagogical strategies suiting a better learning for the itinerant students, promoting the valorisation of the student’s work and the responsibility for their own learning, making it possible the development of the analytical skills while researching, selecting information and solving problems were defined.
