B-LEARNING. CONTEXTS AND APPLICATIONS IN VOCATIONAL TEACHING
This work project aims to make an approach to the introduction, in Vocational Education Institutions, of a more flexible and adaptable teaching / learning model, to student’s profile and different learning styles. The study is based on the introduction of blended-learning in Vocational Restoration Course curriculum, through the discipline of Economics, which is included in the science component, in the Casa Pia de Lisboa, more specifically in the Education Development Center (EDC) of Pina Manique.
The intention is not to submit a proposal for learning exclusively in e-learning model, but fundamentally to support learning, trough b-learning, with different pathways. The methodology is based on the performance of an approach to organizational strategy and its various offerings. It also carries the study of the audience characteristics in terms of profile, technological knowledge and means at disposal. Finally it also held an approach to the technological environment of support.
All these methodological procedures have as ultimate the presentation of a matrix for the vocational teaching in the EDC of Pina Manique, guiding the design of a virtual work space. The final product intends to be a “Manual in Practice” for this curriculum unit, based on different experiences and studies already carried out. So, the development of the Economics discipline will be implemented according to the assessments already made in other models, that is, given a reference that already exists.
The work also aims to emphasize that the adoption of e-learning in the b‑learning mode can be a real contribution to an environment of equity in education, promoting the integration of heterogeneous students with different learning needs and with different professional motivations. It can be considered as an essential ingredient for the modernization of the teaching-learning process, affirming itself as one of the solutions to the new educational paradigm in the Knowledge and Learning Society of the XXI century.
