THE INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES (ICT) IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: THE USE OF MOODLE AND E-MAIL WHILE PERFORMING THE DUTIES OF DIRECTOR OF CLASS IN THE 3RD CYCLE

ABSTRACT

The Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) have been introducing deep changes in society, particularly in the way people access information and relate to it, as well as at interpersonal communication level. Elementary schools should seek to adapt to this new reality so as to not only become part of the information society, but also be an engine, towards a knowledge society. It becomes necessary to modify the teaching -learning processes as well as search for different ways of communication and interaction with all parts of the educational community.
A reflection on 20 years of teaching activity, 10 of which accumulating functions of class direction, led to the conclusion that the need to promote a more frequent use of ICT in order to make them essential tools for the daily life of schools and its members. This project intends to propose the use of the e-mail and a learning platform, the Moodle platform, hand in hand with the ways of communication which usually are used between the different school members (telephone, letter, school booklet, formal or informal meetings), so the communication and the interaction processes become easier in the performances of Class Direction.
