E-LEARNING IN HEALTH: THE MANAGEMENT'S LOOK
ABSTRACT
This study aims to evaluate the contributions of e-Learning for the training and qualification of health professionals from the Health Department of Alagoas State (Sesau) from the perspective of its managers. It was based on the survey of information on how Distance Education (EAD) can facilitate the qualification of workers of the Unified Health System (SUS) in the Brazilian scenario, from the perspective of the manager regarding the advantages and possibility of change in the model of teaching-learning currently practiced, as well as the possibility of inserting e-Learning as a strategy to optimize time as also financial and human resources in educational actions. These results will be used to compose recommendations for the development of a qualification program for health staff through a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). This research is a descriptive study with a quantitative approach developed with the managers of Sesau that occupy commissioned positions and special functions legitimized by the Delegated Law n. 47 (August 10, 2015) of Alagoas State. As a method of data collection, a structured electronic questionnaire was chosen and adapted to the Likert scale, where the respondents specified their level of agreement through the statements presented (Cunha, 2007). This tool was built on Google Docs, which is a free and online google application package. The collected data were analyzed from the frequency and percentage calculations, establishing relationship with the theoretical reference used in this research. The obtained results show the relevance of e-Learning for training and qualification of health staff, as well as the perspective of implementation of this teaching-learning model based on the Permanent Health Education Policy (PEPS) as a complementary tool for corporate education in Sesau, making possible the coexistence of the two training modalities.
