the social balance sheet - french case (1981)
Edition 1983
Author: Maria Henriqueta Almeida
750$00
ABSTRACT:This study is divided
into three parts. In Part I, to give an idea of the wages
policy, an attempt is made to present in a brief and
direct way some of the main lines of the social policy
carried out by the French Government in what concerns
employment policy, the workers'rights in the enterprise,
wages policy and the family policy. In Part II a special
emphasis is laid on the mechanisms of wage indexation
provided for by the instruments of collective regulation.
In Part III, it is described briefly the enforcement

2 - Levels of qualification in collective
bargaining - their application to some public enterprises
of the transport and communications sector
Edition 1982
Authors: Henrique Marques Coelho / Lino Moura Soares /
Maria Isabel Bento Feliz
750$00
ABSTRACT: This study is an
approach to the application to collective bargaining of
the levels of qualification scale settled by ACT no.
121/78. They were found out some adjustment differences
concerning the same occupation: either differences
between the adjustments made by the enterprises and those
made by the technical services, either among the
adjustments made between enterprises. At last, they are
suggested some hypothetical causes for those differences,
which endanger, anyway, the accuracy of statistical
findings and that should therefore be analysed and
corrected.

market
Edition 1984
Author: José Gonçalves Grosso de Oliveira
out of print
ABSTRACT: The objective of this
study is to clear up the misunderstandings resulting from
the use of the expression "job evaluation",
which in spite of the several studies already devoted to
it, namely in the field of the industrial sociology,
remains an ambiguous and difficult concept. Related
concepts such as division of labour and labour market
are, obviously, also dealt with.

7 - Economic and social effects of new
technologies in Sweden
Edition 1988
Authors: Maria Eduarda Ribeiro / Maria Henriqueta Almeida
out of print
ABSTRACT: This study on the
Swedish experience concerning the introduction and
dissemination of new technologies is very fruitful
because it makes possible to know of the efforts made to
reach positive results both in economic and social terms.
Those efforts were translated mainly in the adoption of a
creative industrial policy, the design and implementation
of programs in I&D areas - including the research in
the labour field - and the achievement of an efficient
labour force policy which has been able to attenuate the
negative effects upon the most vulnerable groups.

9 - The situation of Portugal and its position in
relation to the other Community Member States
Edition 1991
Authors: Maria Eduarda Ribeiro / Maria Graça Roque
Antunes
500$00
ABSTRACT: As an introduction to
a broader study on the Single Market effects on the
competence areas of the Ministry of Employment and Social
Security, it appeared as useful to present a set of
indicators which would allow to characterize, from an
economic and social point of view, the position of
Portugal in relation to the other Member States.
Considering that the pace and quality of the development
of these indicators will have influence on the process of
catching up to the other Community countries, an analysis
was also made on the behaviour of some strategic
variables, in recent years, giving particular attention
to the analysis of the growth rate of unit labour costs
in the main sectors of economic activity.
